The WTA Tour Returns to Athens After 35 Years

Athens is preparing to welcome back top-level international women’s tennis, as the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open WTA 250 will take place from July 11 to July 19, 2026, at the Stadion Sports Center, inside the Athens Olympic Tennis Center.

The tournament marks the return of the WTA Tour to the Greek capital for the first time in 35 years, bringing to Athens a major international sporting event with global interest.

Ticket Presale Has Started

Ticket presale for the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open WTA 250 has already started exclusively online, through the official tournament website and the official ticketing partner, Ticketmaster.

Tickets start from just €5, giving tennis fans the opportunity to watch high-level matches live at an event expected to become a landmark for sports tourism in Athens.

From June 25 until July 1, a 15% early bird discount is available, giving the public the chance to secure their seats early at a special price.

Ticket Categories

Spectators can choose between different ticket categories, depending on the experience they want to enjoy during the tournament.

Center Court Tickets offer full access to the event, including the Center Court, where the most important matches of the tournament will take place. They also include access to the other match courts, Grandstand and Court 3, the practice courts, and the Fan & Food Zone.

Ground Pass Tickets offer access to the two other match courts, Grandstand and Court 3, the practice courts, and the Fan & Food Zone, without access to the Center Court.

In addition, different categories of VIP tickets will also be available, offering special access to the event and the matches for those looking for a more premium experience.


Fan & Food Zone for All Ages

The Fan & Food Zone will be a lively space for relaxation, entertainment, and experiences for visitors of all ages.

Guests will be able to enjoy activities, surprises, food options, and special activations from the tournament sponsors, creating a complete experience beyond the matches.

More Than 60 Top Tennis Players in Athens

The Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open WTA 250 will host more than 60 top tennis players from around the world, offering the Greek public a rare opportunity to watch world-class tennis up close.

Among the players already announced for the tournament is Maria Sakkari, who will compete in the singles draw, adding strong Greek interest to the event.

A Tournament with Historical Significance

This year’s tournament holds special significance for Greek tennis, as it will take place in the same city that hosted the Athens Trophy in the 1980s.
