Feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Epanomi Beach on 5 and 6 August

The great Orthodox feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour will once again be celebrated with special reverence at the Metropolitan Chapel of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Epanomi Beach.

The religious celebrations will take place over two days, on 5 and 6 August, offering worshippers the opportunity to attend the sacred services and honour this important feast of the Orthodox Church.

On Wednesday, 5 August, at 19:30, a Festal Vespers service will be held, including the Blessing of the Five Loaves and a religious sermon. During the service, worshippers will also have the opportunity to venerate a fragment of the Holy Relic of Saint Raphael. The chapel will remain open until 23:30.

On the morning of Thursday, 6 August, Matins and the Festal Divine Liturgy will be celebrated. Following the service, grapes and salted fish will be blessed and distributed to those attending, in accordance with tradition.

The celebrations will conclude on the afternoon of the same day. At 19:30, a Vespers service and a Supplicatory Canon to the Most Holy Theotokos will be held.

The Metropolitan Chapel of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Epanomi Beach invites residents and visitors to participate in the two-day celebration and attend the religious services.
